    Part of SAP--great company to work for
    Lots of focus on innovation and potential for future success
    Very collaborative environment
    Great benefits being part of SAP

    Cons

    Lot's of confusion caused by constant change
    Core products have matured. Innovation comes now in small increments.
    New leadership doesn't seem to understand the business

    Advice to Management

    Stick to a plan
    Create a more secure environment where people feel safe to innovate

    Pros

    Strength of the people in general. Pay is good.

    Cons

    Unrealistic dreams, insufficient funding to actually deliver. Many projects have gotten killed as a result.
    Really heavy process creates too much friction. Lack of willingness to prioritize and really fix things.
    Things now worse with the SAP acquisition. Is quite political.

    Large company, stable employment, steady growth.
    Flexible work hours
    Owned by SAP

    Cons

    Lots of legacy code, struggling to keep it current. And innovate.
    Lots of layers and groups
    Train release model, with lots of moving parts.

    Advice to Management

    Simplify all the processes and embrace change.

    - smart and motivated people to work with
    - great support from management on career development
    - ample vacation time

    Cons

    - work long / weekend hours sometimes :(
    - open to hear new ideas for improvement but slow (if at all) to adopt
    - out of date, or lack of adequate documentation on processes in certain areas
    - too many meetings (managers are sometimes hard to catch)

    Advice to Management

    - host more team building activities
    - enforce importance of work-life balance
    - listen to and consider employees ideas and concerns
    - despite your all day meetings, make time for your employees

    Pros

    . Agile, no BS, get the job done.
    . Smart people.
    . People work with you to help unblock issues.
    . Spend management product ideal for the economic downturn, so company actually made money.

    Cons

    . Prepare to work.
    . Things are very high paced. If you don't keep up, then you'll end up getting dragged along on the ground .. face down.
    . You are just a grunt unless you've been there long enough to be deemed valuable to be promoted.
    . Escalations are rampant. Always feeling you are in reactive mode rather than proactive.

    Advice to Management

    Slow down and let people catch up. Granted, some people are just too slow and those needs to be dealt with, but everybody needs a breather. You're dragging more people through the dirt with the current pace than you realize.

    Pros

    Lot of smart folks, Stock is going very good. Stable job

    Cons

    There is no work life balance and not much career growth. Just keep working 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Very poor leadership.

    Advice to Management

    Respect your employees and don't treat them as robots who can work 24/7. Employees play a big role in Ariba's success so don't hesitate in acknowledging that
