I have been working at Ariens full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company, great values, employees feel important and are listened to, political red tape present in larger organizations doesn’t exist here, feel empowered to make decisions without fear of retaliation or reprimand. Best career move I made was coming to Ariens.

    Cons

With a smaller family owned company, the cost of benefits isn’t quite as good as the previous company I worked for, but on the flip side being happy in my career makes up for it!

    Advice to Management

Keep continuing to communicate and empower employees!

I have been working at Ariens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I love that Ariens is a family owned company. We are truly one big family that takes our core values to heart and while we are not perfect, we do our best to live those values out everyday. I also love that the company has such an appreciation not only for their employees, but also their dealers.

    Cons

The drive to Brillion can be 30 minutes if you live in the Fox Valley or Green Bay but once you come on board you see that really isn't that big of a deal and working for a great employer makes it worth it!

I have been working at Ariens full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits and vacation day 1 are a plus, overtime opportunities, 10 paid holidays, some employees there for over 40 years.

    Cons

Oh boy, there's a lot. First of all there is no real training, at least in my area of the plant. Team leaders will throw new employees on a press with a set-up tech for training while knowing that the tech will have to leave several times during the day. I had better training at Burger King, both job and safety related. If you get hurt on the job, they yell at you for "not being safe" even though they won't teach you proper procedures. HR is a laughing stock, team leaders are more worried about baseball scores rather than the job at hand, there's never any profit sharing checks that they promise you and; they'll have you working directly below roofers, plumbers, and electricians. Overall, no one cares about you. You just make snowblowers.

    Advice to Management

Actually work with your employees. Obviously there are problems, because many of the negative reviews are spot on.

    Pros

Good core values and leadership is very accessible.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to call it as they see it. CEO will listen and make the tough call.

I have been working at Ariens full-time

    Pros

    My co-workers on 2nd shift.

    Cons

NO LEADERSHIP!!! Tried to fire me because I have heat exhaustion, but was approved for FMLA. 2* MAke floor leads actually earn their $,instead of sitting in the manufacturing leaders office in the A/C, while the rest of us are working in 90° or above heat. 3. Heat index/humidity monitors on the floor have NOT been re-calibrated since 2014, and they can be set so that they cannot go over a certain temperature. 4. TOO MUCH FAVORTISM.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of ALL upper management and let the employees that work on the floor interview perspective employees/management.

    Pros

Family owned. Cool products. Free cake.

    Cons

0-5 years: only 10 days of Paid Vacation
No sick days, you have to take your vacation.
    Work/Life balance: none
Lack of leadership and direction. NO communication.
Constant restructuring. You're always wondering when the next firing is.

    Advice to Management

You boast the core values, but you don't follow them.

I worked at Ariens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Cool history, and products. Mike was a genuine, caring man. True leadership ended with him.

    Cons

Dan is mostly concerned with his popularity and road show of fame while top and middle leaders play political games and fight for selfish gain. There is little concern for the employees. This company changes its course every other week and it's only solution is constant restructuring.

    Advice to Management

Be genuine and unselfish. Truly care about someone other than yourself. You are not fooling anyone...
