I have been working at Arista Networks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

"Do the right thing" approach throughout the company. Quality comes before deadlines most of the time.

    Cons

Nearly all tools are all built in-house, so skills can't easily carry over to other companies. Documentation of internal tools, including TACC programming language is often lacking, and resources like stack overflow cannot be used for tools used only at Arista.

I have been working at Arista Networks full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There aren't enough good things I can say about Arista Networks. Previous to joining, it was common knowledge within the Networking Industry that Arista Networks was an Amazing place to work for a lot of different reasons. Like most of the Hype in the industry, you take it for what its worth. It wasn't until I became a part of the Arista Family, that I was able to confirm all the hype! I am blown away by the amazing people I have the privilege to work alongside. I'm always learning new things, encouraged to be curious and let my imagination run free, given the freedom to express my ideas, to be innovative and am able to work with different teams, aside form a number of other things. In short, Leadership is Amazing, my colleagues are the absolute best, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to join Arista Networks. I'm very blessed to be able to say that I love what I do, and love even more who I do it for! I look forward to being a part of the exciting and amazing things happening at Arista for many years to come!

    Cons

Happy to say, there are none!

  4. "Tough but Good"

    4.0
Current Employee - Software Engineer in San Francisco, CA

I have been working at Arista Networks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

No deadlines, people have an emphasis on doing code right and fixing customer problems first before pushing out their own new products. They actually do focus on fixing bugs, which is a good thing in the long run.

    Cons

High learning curve, lots of stuff to learn, weird dependencies, and small mistakes could easily cost more time. Tools are slow which could hamper development but people know and are trying to speed things up for us.

I have been working at Arista Networks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very smart engineers. CTO is fantastic. Work/Life balance is alright

    Cons

Upper management has let culture die slowly cutting costs where ever they can find. No team outings and milestone celebrations. Compensation is not competitive with industry. Senior and high-performing engineers are leaving for other companies where they feel more valued.

I worked at Arista Networks full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Management has a good grasp on the industry and beating the competition Work-life balance is prioritized

    Cons

Management is doing a poor job retaining senior, high-quality engineers. They refuse to make compensation competitive and have let the culture deteriorate. Employees do not feel valued and are leaving quickly for higher-paying offers.
