I worked at Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A fun place to work, drive dream cars, meet VIP's and get a workout!

    Cons

Uniforms at the time were very plain; no communications devices (at the time) were provided

    Advice to Management

Please invest in guard gates for valet lot despite the cost; take a look at the high end resorts around the world and invest in the best uniforms possible for the valet, doorman and bell staff! Put the "wow" in the guest from the very beginning with a professional lasting look.

I worked at Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa full-time

    Pros

At the Biltmore the pros are that you get to be in an amazing atmosphere of well groomed grounds and work inside a frank Wright inspired buildings. You also get to see many famous and well set people that are cool to see. Also all the people are fun to work with. Plus they feed you anytime you are hungry in there employee cafeteria. Also free hotel visits to some hilton hotels.

    Cons

I had to work outside during the summer in the 110 degree heat that was not fun. As for working at a resort you had to work all major holidays.

    Advice to Management

At the biltmore the some of the managers are great but they sometime have to move around different department that confuses the hourly workers.

I worked at Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Being able to work in a beautiful environment. With a few wonderful people that were honest and caring. They have a new drink machine in the staff cafeteria.

    Cons

If you are not a drinking buddy of a manager your not going far. Lack of care when it comes to employee needs. It took almost five months for uniforms to come in the correct size. After bing being told that a review would happen at the ninety day mark waited and additional ninety plus sixty for it to happen. Only after a person who was hired after me had their review and I made a stink did it get main. The use of bully tactics and threats, "don't burn a bridge it's a small town" that I quickly replied is a two way street. Even management who should be there to aid in helping you with any questions you may would use none verbal queues to show frustration. Also I love the idea of an exchange program with other countries for diversity, but when the majority of the front office team are J-1's something isn't right. Why is the Waldorf of New Orleans listed in this group?

    Advice to Management

Get your house in order more than the one time a year that reviews come up. Listen to your people and the same care you would give a guest extend that to your staff you may have people who stay longer.

I worked at Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Guests are great; long-time workers have great attitude; great pay; You can stay a long time if you are willing to bite your tongue, even when treated unfairly

    Cons

Benefits are not easy to use, sometimes you are punished for using them as well; younger staff tend to suck up to management, one member even having a sexual relationship with a manager in hopes of a promotion; survey scores and reviews outweighed actual staff performance; long hours, many overnight staff do not show up leaving daytime to stay late or come in early

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your staff, they ultimately define guest and employee satisfaction
