    Pros

Great opportunity to work as a student. You get to work on campus and are generous/flexible to work around your class schedule.

    Cons

The only con I could think of would be low pay, but not unreasonable for a student job.

I worked at Arizona State University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Years ago, i had the pleasure to be a GTA at Arizona State University. It was fun and challenging work and the students and the college were exciting and supportive. I would recommend the experience to anyone interested in an advanced education.

    Cons

My service ended after obtaining a degree. This is not a con, but a reality of graduate work.

    Advice to Management

The school was always a superior well managed institution. It is something wonderful that people in the Phoenix community are rightly proud.

I have been working at Arizona State University full-time

    Pros

ASU offers a broad range of benefits to employees including excellent health insurance, retirement, generous paid time off policies, reduced (practically free) tuition to the college, lots of opportunities for continuing education in your own field. There is a light rail station on the main campus.
There is always something going on at the campus, including special events, community outreach, sports, music and other cultural events, even food trucks.

    Cons

The main downside to working at ASU Tempe is in the parking and transportation department. Employees must pay to use campus parking; parking structures near the main campus can run you $780 a year to use. You can park in farther-flung lots for as little as $200/year but be prepared to walk a mile or more to your office every day. They do sell a light rail pass at a slightly reduced rate (also around $200/year).

    Advice to Management

The hiring process can often take a very long time, leaving a department short-handed even when there seemed to have been ample time to fill a vacant position. Also new hires are given several solid days of ASU orientation (via in-person classes and videos) while also trying to get a handle on their actual job (where they are probably also reading manuals, watching videos and attending classes). It all starts to blur together a bit by the end of the first week. Maybe consider spreading all of this orientation out a bit so that people can actually take it all in.
