I have been working at Arkansas Children's full-time

    Pros

Friendly staff, Noble mission, Amazing benefits, Fair pay, Some flexibility

    Cons

Upper-level bureaucracy, Lack of communication between management and staff, Support departments treated like second-class citizens by organizational leadership.

    Advice to Management

The vision and scope of the leadership's plans are admirable, but some restraint should be exercised to ensure the organization is not being stretched too thin in terms of resources. Also, with the exception of the CEO Marcy Doderer, leadership needs to improve communication with the people in their charge as overall morale is on the decline and has, on occasion, been reflected in some of the performance satisfaction...

I have been working at Arkansas Children's full-time

    Pros

You won’t find a better purpose than helping sick children. It can be very rewarding to see kids get better and get to go home.

    Cons

There are a lot of internal politics that occurs. Communication about why and how things occur isn’t always good/timely.

I have been working at Arkansas Children's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Feels like you know everyone after so long; very rewarding work that is done for children's health no matter where you work

    Cons

New hospital so things are not set in stone; pay may not be the best especially with experience; Hospital is in it's beginning phase since opening so lots of changes to come

I worked at Arkansas Children's full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Not all departments have top talent leadership but the majority do a great job.

    Cons

Allow people who have toxic attitudes to stay employed just because they’ve been there a long time.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of upper leadership who are non performers and tier 3!

I worked at Arkansas Children's part-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Loved the 4yrs I had with the families and patients.

    Cons

Upper management is becoming increasingly more corrupt and unpleasant to work under.

    Advice to Management

Hire less greedy power starved management. And show gratitude to your long term employees rather than allow them to be targeted and forced to resign when a unit gets a new direction and management team.

I worked at Arkansas Children's full-time for more than 9 years

      Pros

The best part of working at ACH is working with the children and their families. This is what makes this place great! The benefits are good also.

      Cons

Upper management needs to listen to their employees suggestions more often. It is difficult to take the time off one has accrued due to short staff situations in most departments

      Advice to Management

Bring back the T-shirts and scrubs. While the hospital changes are nice, it needs to have more of a “child like” atmosphere.
