I have been working at Arkema full-time

    Pros

There are no pros to this company

    Cons

Arkema is a very odd company who is obsessed with safety and their “BBS Program.” Corporate is on th gravy train and has rude , entitled individuals working there. Get over yourself , please ..you are no better than anyone else. The culture is toxic and you either have lazy employees or those who don’t know how to leave work . This company is not family friendly and frowns upon taking off for family related issues . They also do not have sick days, making it nearly impossible to take off of work when you’re sick. I see why so many people leave this company .

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the BBS program, hire qualified people, get HR more involved (they’d be shocked at what they find out), allow employees to work from home or work 4, 10 hour shifts.

I have been working at Arkema full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Okay Paycheck and health insurance are all you get.

    Cons

Compensation is 20% less than the similar company in the area.

Health insurance is not the best in the area

French people get all the good opportunities: projects, visibilities, expat, promotions over other nationalities.

    I worked at Arkema full-time

    Pros

Great employees in the Bristol plant that work together and support all functions of the business.

    Cons

Management is less than desired as its "every man for himself" too many silos and not enough team effort. PM does what he can to make himself look good. Hard to work due to resources and information being kept to one person.

    Advice to Management

fix problems rather than cover them up.

I have been working at Arkema full-time

    Pros

None at all because this company is awful

    Cons

    -horrible culture
    -stressful and toxic work environment
    -HORRIBLE management
-expected to be on call 24/7, even in a lower level Office position
    -demanding sales department
-expected to work past your shift ends and it is frowned upon if you do not
-employees who don’t know how to separate work with other priorities ; often bringing work home and working on weekends and during vacation days .
-“the needs of the business” are more important than your family
    -pointless performance reviews
-company is too obsessed about safety
-upper management complains and panics about every little thing

    Advice to Management

Care more about your employees and quit expecting them to overwork themselves for a business that could care less about them !

Encourage your employees and remember that they have lives outside of work !

What is the point of vacation days if employees are expected to work during them?

Quit letting other departments control certain things !

    Pros

Really good healthcare insurance, good safety team results

    Cons

No accountability, operators screw up and nothing happens

    Advice to Management

Make supervisors do their jobs of running their people. A360 degree review of management up would be a shocker

I worked at Arkema full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent salary and benefits if hired.

    Cons

If hired on as a contract employee, beware as it could take up to 3 years to be hired on as an Arkema employee. THIS WAY THEY DON'T HAVE TO PROVIDE BENEFITS or add head count (whatever that means).

    Advice to Management

Hire contact employees no later completing 1 year of service.

    Pros

Arkema U,S is a great place to work. Opportunities for growth and training are made available to employees. The people you work with are collaborative. Management is helpful toward goal setting.

    Cons

Incentive bonuses are only for select upper managers. There was no bonus program for other staff contributing to success this may be because the business is French owned & perhaps those types of incentives do not translate well. In America incentives are sought after.

    Advice to Management

    Continue talent development programs.
