    Pros

The prepared foods in the snack area tastes great, everyone is layed back. Management is friendly. Store is not too big.

    Cons

Everyone plays too much, curses around customers and other employees, no one acts professional except two managers. One male employee looks and acts drunk everyday. Everyone expects you to learn everything too fast if you're a new employee and still training. The pay is less than what Walmart pays. Overall, the Camp Shelby store is not a very good place to work.

    Advice to Management

    Manage the employees better.

No pros. I wouldn't want to work there ever again to be honest.

    Cons

    Bad pay
    Stiffed out of raise
No vacation as they try to keep you in intermittent

    Advice to Management

Be less lazy and more in tune with your people. It's retail and there will be down time.

I have been working at Army and Air Force Exchange part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You earn a little more than outside of base. They have bonuses at the end of the year and the pay increases if the outside minimum wage increases.

    Cons

Horrible employees get to keep their job. They don't ever want to fire anyone even if they never show up to work or are always late. This has always put a strain on the rest of us. It goes to show it really does not matter you're good or bad. Also for the fast food jobs here on base it is a nightmare. AAFES does not pay over time, so you'll end up working for free when closing the restaurant. I've put so much hard work and free labor but never get thanked for it.

    Advice to Management

Fire bad employees immediately. Don't bother giving them multiple chances to abuse your kindness. Also stop making people work for free. Pay them the over time they deserve.

    Pros

I enjoyed working with the crew members. Customers on base are a lot better than off-base customers. Great opportunities to grow with in the company.

    Cons

Rarely do you get your scheduled break and they get upset when you ask for your break. You're on your feet for 6-8 hours cooking in a hot kitchen area and my old manager thought it was lazy of the crew to ask for their full 30min break. she even told me once to not give out breaks unless they actually said something about it. And some of them were too nervous to ask for a break. The restaurant was always understaffed!

    Advice to Management

Treat the crew members with respect.
