I worked at Army and Air Force Exchange part-time

    Pros

Got to meet a lot of the base personnel as well as government employees. Lots of regulars. Employee turn over was low. Good pay, great coworkers. Worked with my schedule

    Cons

Had to ensure coffee was available, food was being taken off once time limit came, and help with propane and station, receipt refills all while manning the register, sometimes alone.

I worked at Army and Air Force Exchange full-time

    Pros

I really enjoyed working in Fort Hood Tx AAFES. I got to see different faces everyday including a lot of military. It helped me to know the ranks since my husband was in there.

    Cons

There were a couple of people that I did not like because they were bullying some of the coworkers. The GM did not stop it because she was doing the same. I also didn't like that those who smoke was able to take a smoke break & they regular break while others couldn't go a break til it was their time.

    Hard work pays off
    Good people

    Cons

    A few bad apples (workers)
Obamacare forced hours to be cut to part time only

    Advice to Management

Fire people who refuse to listen to what they are told to do. Keep a better eye out on them.

I worked at Army and Air Force Exchange part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers, good hours (7-3 shift), overall good management. They made holidays fun, good benefits if you were full time. Even part time had good vacation days.

    Cons

Most of the customers you interact with in the office is because they're already mad about something and they're looking for a manager, but seriously that's about it.

    Advice to Management

Don't double up jobs on assistants if someone else isn't doing theirs. (This only happened like once, but still)

Great opportunities, great service opportunity. Serving our Country, Service Members, Family Members and US Citizens. It's challenging, you can learn so much from the unbelievable Military and Civilians leaders, so knowledgeable and sharing.

    Cons

No real cons, unless you have problem dealing with deadlines, some that are quick turn around, etc. schooling is available to increase your knowledge and skills
