I worked at AroundCampus full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Very in-depth sales training
    - Social, young sales reps that were easy to get along with

    Cons

OKAY so if you want to deal with an archaic marketing method, ambiguous management, and absolute garbage pay, this is the perfect company for you. Training was exhausting and there were a lot of unprofessional people there, sales reps and management included. You felt like you were at summer camp with all the chants and games. When I would ask a question to management regarding the product/objections, they had 0 idea of what to say. No compensation for gas, even if you were working in a completely different city/campus that the company assigned you to, and you're working a minimum 40 hours a week with $150/week with very little commission (you do the math on the $150).

    Advice to Management

Even though these are college students you are hiring as sales reps, you can't always justify this horrendous pay with "this is great experience". College students actually have to SAVE and pay for tuition, books, loans, gas, food, etc. It would be better experience if you were making an innovative product. Be more transparent with everyone involved, and don't give a beat around the bush answer. IMPROVE YOU PRODUCT AND MANAGEMENT OR YOU ARE GOING TO FAIL.

    Pros

Used to be a great company. Upper management/leadership has no direction

    Cons

    Constantly laying people off
    Underpaid
    Constant lies
They started recruiting for their summer internship this summer and hired a couple hundred college students and pulled the plug right before it leaving these kids without an internship or down payments already paid on summer housing not needed

    Advice to Management

Pull the plug. Quit tampering with people in their personal and professional paths.
Start treating people like people like all your marketing material claims you do

    I worked at AroundCampus full-time

    Pros

-The internship training you get at UNC Chapel Hill is pretty good
-You get pretty good experience with sales and how to handle objetions

    Cons

-Prepare to get rejected because the product is not very good
-Long hours and very poor compensation: 8-5 with only $150 a week plus commission (not much)
    -The Uconnection app is terrible

    Advice to Management

Print advertisements are a thing of the past. The only way this company will continue to make money is if they figure out digital/mobile advertising because Uconnection is not the answer. And also pay your employees more.
