    Advice to Management

need managers with more experience and not fresh out of college and hire more full-time staff not just interns. There is a lack of structure and direction. I don't see this company lasting another 5 years.

    Pros

Management is fantastic at assisting you with any daily problems or questions you might. They are also great at helping you stay motivated throughout the summer to make sure you are on track with your sales goals.

    Cons

Can be hard to stay motivated though the summer, but having such a great group of coworkers and managers made the summer such a blast!

I worked at AroundCampus full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company was able to transform itself into VergeCampus--after laying everybody off. So if you're considering working for AroundCampus/VergeCampus, see the below.

    Cons

Tragically run business. The owner pulled all the strings, made all the important business decisions, many of which contradicted each other, or wasted much-needed manpower and money. The management was incapable of taking back the reins from him and was unable to get the company back on course.

A few highlights/lowlights of my time there:

The company's digital transition from print was built around a product that didn't work, and did not have the know-how or the resources to make it work.

The company brought on a consultant firm to review its business processes, and make assessments necessary for a restructure. They allegedly weren't paid after a summerlong consulting period.

After the 2018 selling season, the company decided not to print Student Planners with the least amount of revenue sold - despite some businesses agreeing to do advertising in them. The Customer Service team was prevented from giving refunds. Customers calling in for refunds were allegedly sent to a voicemail that wasn't checked.

    Company lost its BBB accreditation.

AroundCampus had to cancel its sales internship, again after allegedly not paying the property used for the training the year prior, and its Sales Team quit en masse.

The entire management team took off two weeks for Christmas, leaving junior employees in charge the entirety of the break. An intern took over as the interim Controller.

Multiple instances of employees not being paid on time--in one instance, all the summer interns were not paid on time, and many quit.

Two brutal layoffs - both done by huddling the terminated employees into a room and handing them a goodbye packet. The first layoff was thoughtful enough to include half a paycheck's worth of severence...the second one (all the 'essential' employees left over from the first) were given nothing.

    Advice to Management

    Where do I begin?
