I worked at Arriva full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Free cpc and loads of hours

    Cons

If your not in the managements gang you will get all the rubbish shifts,if you speak to them like they to you then it's a disapline, the driver is always wrong and I have personally seen and witnessed management setting drivers up to get dismissed

    Advice to Management

To all the management in control at cannock I strongly recommend you all get behind the wheel and see what abuse your drivers are taking, and don't just pick daytime duties

I worked at Arriva full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not many! Friendly co workers and free cpc training.

    Cons

Abusive passengers, poorly timed routes, incompetent management (especially at senior level). If the company was any good at all it wouldnt have bought itself out of malta a few years back. It cant even run a bus operation on an island with no competition its so badly managed.

    Advice to Management

Leave transport managment to the few who know how to do it.

I worked at Arriva part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work with professional companies that Arriva should take lessons from!

    Cons

No free travel to get you to location
Only £25 cap on travel which you do get back eventually
    No feedback
Don’t listen to opinions or ideas
    Wrong vehicles for wrong jobs
Don’t plan enough vehicles for certain jobs
    Favouritism with staff
Feedback never adhered or listened to.
    No contact.
    Afraid to spend money

    Advice to Management

    Needs major overhaul.

Service buses off long routes on major services. Doesn’t work

No monthly news or quarterly meetings which was put across a long time ago
Signed a contract for casual/part time but no work through for a long duration.
Needs people in management positions who know the bus industry more and whom can judge how many vehicles will be required and allocate enough to cover the job entirely.
To get out of the culture if having favourites so other people get no work.
Introduce a travel pass for coordinators like other companies do to make it easier for staff to get to locations.

I have been working at Arriva full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay is good but that's as far as it goes

    Cons

No support from management, always out to get drivers whether it's accidents or covert inspections they get you in the end.
Each depot manager has there favourites and no matter how hard you work you will never get promotion unless you are one of them!!
Very stressful working environment and no support from management. If a customer complains no matter what happened you get the blame and the customer gets a free weekly pass for making there complaint!!!!!!!

    Advice to Management

Support your drivers as they are the ones who make the profits.
Promote staff on ability and not the ones who make you coffee and buy your lunch!!!!
