I have been working at Arrow Electronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits are great. FAEs are treated very well, and are viewed highly within the company. They are rarely let go as they are the reason suppliers continue to invest with Arrow. The flexibility of the job is second to none, while the demands are reasonable.

    Cons

There are few options to move within the company. The FAE role is more of a glorified sales engineer role these days. Very little in the way of offering true engineering support. FAEs are expected to act as conduits rather than subject matter experts.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating FAEs like glorified sales engineers. The FAE role has been watered down, so much so, there are few within the company that can be considered engineers.
