Higher starting salaries than other industries but overall not worth it

      Pros

Higher than average starting salaries. Fairly decent benefits - health insurance is a crap shoot no matter what these days but their H.I. programs were far better than the company I had come from before Arrow. Some managers are okay to work with.

      Cons

No training program(s) whatsoever. It’s very much a sink or swim environment from the get-go. There isn’t really any company culture, just a bunch of drones crunching numbers for 9 hrs a day. Co workers at your same job grade are often rude, impatient during the learning / onboarding process, and quick to finger-point. No bonuses ever in this department because bonuses are reserved for revenue generating positions such as sales. “Unlimited” vacation days per year is a scam because instead of accruing PTO and having to use-it-or-lose-it by year end, almost every employee will inevitably take maybe 1/2 or less vacation days as they otherwise would. Pre pandemic the company had a very strict in-office everyday policy and would only let you WFH if you had a broken leg or something and got sign-off from upper management (no company I had previously worked for was nearly as strict about being in-office every day, with hardly any exceptions like a sick child for example)

Stale Work Environment With Little Upward Opportunity

Sep 7, 2021 - Product Marketing Manager in Denver, CO

      Pros

Large company with good healthcare benefits Predictable schedule

      Cons

Arrow is a company still treating it's employees like it's 1965. Being at your desk for long hours is more important than work quality/production. The upper management is hands off and unapproachable.

Work here if you are desperate

      Pros

They have a very nice gym

      Cons

The model at Arrow ECS(IT) is to employ as many workers who are tied to their Visas as possible. You follow this approach to keep people in line. If you miss a Project date, you are in jeopardy of getting terminated and being sent back to your home country. In the years that I was there, I witnessed on 2 occasions where EMT's were called in, for individuals who were sick and should have stayed home. They came to work sick because they had project dates to keep. Also, they offer unlimited PTO, but you're always to busy to take any Vacation. The real reason for the unlimited PTO, is that Arrow doesn't have to pay you Vacation days when you leave or get laid off. Other points of contention... - Middle Management will dump all over their Employees so they can get ahead. If Middle Management does not follow this model, Upper Management will replace them. - Executives treat you like another number. They'll look at you like you're not even there. These Executive inspire no one. - The HR Department will do whatever Management tells them. I've seen an Employee speak out in an open forum, only to be ostracized and driven out of their position. HR did nothing to help this Employee. - There is no work/life balance but there is a lot of job stress. - There is a current push to move jobs to India and Mexico. They'll do anything to save a buck. - Constant threat of layoffs. - No formal training. Their idea of Training is to do a google search or pay for your own Certifications. If you're desperate for a job, take a position at Arrow ECS. If you have choices, do not choose Arrow ECS.

There are better employers in Denver but if you just want a paycheck…

Jul 18, 2021 - Manager in Centennial, CO

      Pros

PTO (if able to actually use as extremely understaffed and if you do… your work just piles up and you have to work extra hours to completed once back) Change of roles - lots of jobs posted and you can easily apply to other teams (warning that there are retaliatory actions by some though and once you express interest in leaving the team/ company they 100% stop investing in you) Coworkers (primary reason many stay as it is a good thing when you find a good team to be a part of) Promotions if you drink the koolaid and are one of the favorites of upper management (seriously they will just promote you without even interviewing/ considering anyone else. Damn the Colorado laws!) RTD passes Somewhat diverse (not inclusive but may be trying?) Challenging (if you like being pulled in multiple directions with little appreciation) Career/ job knowledge (by doing so much you really do get to learn a lot)

      Cons

Two years with no merits while upper management received annual incentives for overachieving results AND expansion of senior executives (how many VPs can there be in the same role?) with promotions. Tons of market pay adjustments meaning they have been underpaying women and others for YEARS and tell employees they should be happy now to have an increase and stop complaining about merits/ loss of pay for those underpaid years?!! The cost of living increases more in Denver than the 3% they offer even when merits are available, which basically means “merit increases” themselves are a joke. Return to office is mind blowing. They do NOT have any remote positions and act as though when they give you an afternoon to work at home you should be on your knees thanking them. Layoffs - Seriously seems to be annual or bi-annual layoffs (almost always moving jobs overseas). Training - you have to invest in yourself, train yourself, and seek out opportunities. If you advance, such as with additional certifications/ degrees, Arrow will not offer pay assistance nor increase your salary. Lack of retention. Telling someone when they receive another offer from another company they will THEN discuss your salary is not cool.

Tough place to make a carreer

May 9, 2021 - Sales and Marketing Representative in Centennial, CO
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Exceeding sales goals can create a well paid environment.

      Cons

Culture is very negative. Upper management takes 0 responsibility for anything. Unrealistic workload. Good performance earns more and more work most of the time without increased pay. Exceeding yearly sales goals causes unachievable sales goals the following year. Which in turn can cause a large pay decrease. Also, managements handling of the pandemic has not been exemplary. Company is rushing its workforce to 100% in office work weeks for positions that do not require it in any way.
