    I worked at Arrowstreet full-time

    Pros

Friendly coworkers, great office, fun workplace, good hours. You will get design responsibility right away even at entry level, if that is what you want.

    Cons

Management can be poor at times. Lack of standards for anything across the board(HR, project delivery, process). One could see this as "relaxed" or "laid back", or one could see this as "lacking in organization." The different studios don't seem to really communicate with eachother. Quality of life between each studio varies greatly. Lack of timely and honest/assertive feedback. There is another... glassdoor review on here that says "There's a sense that it's more important to market ideas in a cool way than to have a rigorous body of work," and that is really an excellent description of certain parts of the studio, and of how they value employees.

    Advice to Management

You are and will be able to attract young talented designers because it is an attractive and fun workplace and your ability to "market ideas in a cool way", but its apparent that they will move on quite quickly as evidenced by recent departures of extremely talented people. If you take a look at those who are in leadership roles and how long they have been at the company, it becomes extremely apparent that you... don't develop people into leadership roles, you prefer to hire instead.

I worked at Arrowstreet full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Comfortable place. Friendly coworkers. Reasonable hours.

    Cons

Lack of design leadership and culture. There's a sense that it's more important to market ideas in a cool way than to have a rigorous body of work. Large number of ambitious designers left recently.

    I worked at Arrowstreet full-time

    Pros

Good design opportunity jobs comes in. Small teams. Good bonus.

    Cons

Lacks in any process and standards on projects, and constant tension in the management team trickles down to team. Micromanages design by director level, depending on ergo you work with. Some toxic personalities.

    Advice to Management

Provide more unified process to staff and create a better work environment.

I worked at Arrowstreet full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great creative firm, excellent designers, a good culture. I was pretty happy there!

    Cons

One manager, who has since left, was pretty terrible. It can be hit or miss - you have to be proactive about making sure you're working with the right people.

    Advice to Management

Keep a close eye on your middle management to make sure they're not mistreating the people underneath them.

I worked at Arrowstreet full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The new studio is gorgeous, great location, great space design. Fun, friendly staff, work hard and play hard. Interesting work too!

    Cons

Be careful who you are working for - while most are good, there are some who will throw you under the bus. Support for continued development was also low.

    Advice to Management

Let staff review their bosses. Listen to them. Support those who feel they are not being represented.
