    Pros

Met great people It was a paycheck

    Cons

The entire branch had the same dress code, but tellers would get written up for wearing the exact same thing as the "deskside associates". Also, some people were allowed to show off their tattoos (managers and such) while tellers could not. The list goes on about how many things I remember that management was hypocritical about (managers being late when it was their turn to open, while tellers would get in trouble is another example). From my understanding, a few different branches in central Arkansas were like this.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favoritism. If you have rules, make them for everyone. And if you are going to punish one for breaking the rules, punish the other person that broke them as well.

I have been working at Arvest Bank part-time

    Pros

Good culture. Very supportive in opportunities to grow. Fast paced environment with new things to learn everyday. This is really a good base area to grow through Arvest because they hire internally. Great people.

    Cons

The future of banking is changing with the use of technology and with that comes a lot more you have to learn in order to succeed. Be prepared to take on a lot but go out on the other side knowing everything there is to know about Arvest. It's overwhelming but ultimately rewarding.

I have been working at Arvest Bank full-time

    Pros

Great people and great company culture. You have support from day one.

    Cons

The bank has very outdated technology for wealth management. They are stuck in the 90's. Still pushing annuities, class A mutual funds and ancient advisory models that most firms have abandoned long ago. Advisors work on commission and the industry is shifting away from that.

    Advice to Management

Update compensation to cater toward objective fiduciary advice where it is not product-specific. Push vision 2020 to 2018 so that you are not stuck in the 90s.

    Cons

Can get repetitive, not a lot of schedule flexibility.
