I have been working at Ascend Learning full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible, independent culture, ideal for people who enjoy feeling ownership over their work, actually committed to the corporate values, opportunities for professional development and continuing education. Dedication to hiring the right people. Commitment to constant, if incremental, improvements.

    Cons

Fast growth can lead to a fast-paced environment, things are changing a lot as we grow and develop which could make it not the right fit for some people.

    Advice to Management

Keep the dedication to those core values! It definitely shows that leadership is committed to them now.

No vacation policy - Both a Pro and Con, actually. Employees are allowed to take days as they need them. Good for some positions, bad for others. Employees who work really hard and somehow, still stay despite the obvious troubles. Food - potlucks and a few catered lunches randomly for holidays.

    Cons

Where to begin? - No budget - Broken technology - Impossible revenue goals - Management who will throw you under the bus Still reading? I'm shocked... well, here's why I am leaving this review. Decide for yourself if this is the type of company you really want to commit to. Advice to Management

Invest money into all business units, especially the ones proving to be profitable, and help them actually hit their revenue goals. Hire managers who are qualified and know what they are doing, not just someone who likes to yell, push people around, and used to work with the General Manager. Give employees a reason to stay, something to believe in.
