I worked at Ascendify full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was at Ascendify for a little over a year and have enjoyed working with the team. It is a forward thinking and exciting startup. At Ascendify, you are able to bring your ideas and shape the future of the company.

    Cons

At times, it would be helpful to have more processes in place.

I worked at Ascendify full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great management that is willing to help with career goals
    Great team to work with
    Good company outlook

    Cons

One night a month is release night, so engineers typically stay later (around 10 usually), but the company buys nice dinners for the team. WFH the next day if you stay later.

    Advice to Management

    Remote work is happy work.

    Pros

    - Rapidly growing startup that partners closely with big name enterprise clients.
    - Daily contributions have a measurable impact on the company.
    - Concerted efforts to move off of legacy technologies onto newest technologies.
    - Amicable team that is easy to work with.

    Cons

    - Lack of a technical product manager means that engineers occasionally have to go to lengths to understand (or set) requirements for new features
-Lack of deployment infrastructure leads to frequent hot fixes (making active efforts to move towards better deployment practices however)

    Advice to Management

Continue to hire top talent and solicit their opinions on how to make the application more scalable (and make the time to implement proposed changes)

I worked at Ascendify full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Opportunities for major growth

    Cons

    - leadership is all over the place, inconsistent goals
    - misleading customers on possibilities and practabilty of product
    - security policy is almost non existent

    Advice to Management

The board really needs to look over leadership

I worked at Ascendify full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-You get to work with very high profile, Fortune 500 companies.
-Opportunities to expand beyond your prescribed responsibilities due to the small size of the company.
-Huge effort to research and integrate the newest technologies across the full stack.
-Transparent business: the management makes a great effort to make sure they communicate the state of the company and the progress (for better or for worse) they've made as a whole.
-Always a great variety of snacks/beverages/video games.

    Cons

Typically behind schedule on release nights (Ascendify operates on a sprint system), leading to occasional, very late nights.
Poor allocation of resources and inconsistent involvement from management: often projects require decisions from the leadership or rely on insight from a different team, but the lack of a project manager and the amount of work that everyone has makes it difficult to move things along smoothly/thoroughly.
