    Pros

    Conveniences of a modern office...
      - free coffee & soda
      - Ice Machines
      - state-of-the-art Vending options
      - ATM
      - Mail Room

    Cons

Horribly unqualified & unprofessional Supervisors/Managers are allowed to harass and verbally abuse employees with no repercussions.

Harassment & a hostile work environment is tolerated; feels very much like a bad Mean Girls spinoff. Other departments just look the other way.

They may preach about ministering to the poor, but they offer no support for employees subject to such abuse.

    Religious-based hypocrisy at its best.

    Advice to Management

I wish it mattered... if anything was likely to change, I'd probably still be there.

    Pros

    Free soft drinks and coffee.

    Cons

Too much office politics. Too hard to move forward. Not enough jobs in the department to grow. You can't be promoted unless you're part of the favorite group. It's like you graduate high school but you're right back in high school.

    Advice to Management

None. No point in telling them anything. They turn a deaf ear to anything you say.

I have been working at Ascension Ministry Service Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Treated fairly; plenty of work to do, but hard workers are recognized. Good benefits, flexible working hours, free soda and other beverages. Open office atmosphere. Mobility (work from home) available most areas. Feel valued here.

    Cons

The usual negative or change adverse people, who you learn to avoid. Upper Management seem unreachable and lots of changes can feel confusing. Lip service only. But a sign of the times, especially in the Health Care field.

    Advice to Management

More MSC wide recognition. Some areas do a great job; others not so much.

I have been working at Ascension Ministry Service Center full-time

    Pros

Free drinks, good volunteer opportunities, great on site pastor, some great associates

    Cons

Management seems to be in a constant state of flux, too much outsourcing and downsizing in the past two years, which results in a stressful environment. Two more smaller departments were let go yesterday. Who will be next?

    Advice to Management

Work harder to make the Ministry Service Center a place where employees feel stability and aren't constantly worrying when their department or position may be let go.

I have been working at Ascension Ministry Service Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Room for growth, a lot of variety of potential positions and opportunities.

    Cons

Really depends on what department you get into. Management/supervision/direction differs dramatically.

    Advice to Management

Keep your employees happy and don't bring it too much outside leadership. It makes your employees feel like they aren't worthy to move up after putting in their time.

I worked at Ascension Ministry Service Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Appreciated staff and looked at ways to improve.

    Cons

This is truly a call center. For those in the Human Resource profession not a true way to help your associates or become a true strategic partner.

    Advice to Management

Get a cell phone policy. There were so many associates through out the building complaining of having too many tickets, but had time to take pictures of their drink of the day.
