    Pros

    Conveniences of a modern office...
      - free coffee & soda
      - Ice Machines
      - state-of-the-art Vending options
      - ATM
      - Mail Room

    Cons

Horribly unqualified & unprofessional Supervisors/Managers are allowed to harass and verbally abuse employees with no repercussions.

Harassment & a hostile work environment is tolerated; feels very much like a bad Mean Girls spinoff. Other departments just look the other way.

They may preach about ministering to the poor, but they offer no support for employees subject to such abuse.

    Religious-based hypocrisy at its best.

    Advice to Management

I wish it mattered... if anything was likely to change, I'd probably still be there.

    Pros

As everyone has mentioned, I am a big fan of the free soda and WiFi. The people are nice too.

    Cons

This company is steadily declining in employee morale. Departments are worried (as they should be) about outsourcing. With two major departments being outsourced to horrible companies, it is only a matter of time before the next is notified. Of course management is aware several months prior of the departments being outsourced, they just choose not to notify their employees in a timely manner.

    Advice to Management

If you know you were going to outsource your departments and signed intent contacts to do so in 2014, why wait until late 2016 to notify the departments?!? Treat your employees with respect!

I have been working at Ascension Ministry Service Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The Mission and Core Values are what brought me here, have worked at one of the Health Ministries also. The people I work with are awesome!

    Cons

Life/work Balance is non existent. 50+ hours a week in the office plus work at home some in the evenings and on weekends. Upper management doesn't seem to care. Too much politics with Senior Management, they seem more concerned about their own jobs than helping to make positive changes within their own departments. I am looking for employment outside of Ascension just to get my life back. I have never worked anywhere where I have felt so unappreciated and so set up for failure.

    Advice to Management

Associate turnover is too high, you are wearing your Associates out. You spend great sums of money on new technology, but won't spend the time or money to clean up your source data so new systems will work properly without numerous work arounds. Unrealistic work load with no light at the end of the tunnel.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Ascension Ministry Service Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great purpose, just no delivery from upper management on that purpose throughout the entire organization. Worse than the publicly traded company's management since no regulations.

    Cons

Upper management blames mid-level and lower management because of their poor decisions and inabilities. Everyone is expected to take on responsibilities of poor upper management's judgement. Upper management is all about themselves and no regard for their staff and the purpose.

    Advice to Management

Be humble and check your ego at the door. Look up the word "humility" and most importantly practice it. Take care of your associates, its not always all about you and your appearance. This all starts at the director level, know you don't know everything, listen, and don't throw others under the bus because you have no clue.

I worked at Ascension Ministry Service Center (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great co-workers for the most part
Mobility option is good if allowed by department
Unlimited Free soda, coffe, tea ect
    Mission in Action activities

    Cons

Management is very unqualified and very inexperienced. Seems like 90% of the Management does not know what they are doing and it goes un-noticed. If you apply for a position it doesnt matter if you are unqualified they will take you because they are desperate. Poor management is running this company into the ground. Its all becoming one big call center. If you are a professional dont waste your time.

    Advice to Management

Stop running off qualified Staff and replacing them with unqualified individuals

    Pros

Free drinks(coffee, tea, soda). Ability to work from home and a lot of pitch-ins

    Cons

Poor communication, they would insult your intelligence, would allow you to work from home and then take it away at a moment's notice due to their lack of ability to implement programs. Your voices are not heard and they are not proactive, but reactive. Certain departments have/are being outsourced, but of course when these issues were brought up, it was just a rumor.

    Advice to Management

    You need training

    Pros

Mobility with a laptop, two monitors and a docking station, free pop/coffee and good food trucks. Pastor (Glenn) who is amazing.

    Cons

Leadership, Supervisors, Seniors. Lack of communication and team players. Misses the mark of what they stand for. Worst experience in my professional career.

    Advice to Management

Listen and learn from your employees.

I have been working at Ascension Ministry Service Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

COO that has been running the place into the ground for 5 years was recently let go. Free pop and coffee.

    Cons

COO that was let go created a culture of a place where not many people wanted to work. He did not value employees for the hard work they did on a daily basis. That culture runs deep and it will take time to change and create a place where people want to work. Most of HR is being outsourced away from the MSC due to the fact that leadership has not had their attention on the correct metrics.

    Advice to Management

Identify and retain the employees that work hard and want to make the place a great place to work.
