I have been working at Ascension Sacred Heart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Coworkers are great to work with, benefits are good, very flexible with paid time off and a supportive atmosphere.

    Cons

There is little room for growth, there are not many opportunities to move to other positions or move up. Management seems concerned yet has little follow through.

I worked at Ascension Sacred Heart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Best thing about working here is the people I work with and how the hospital actually will help people in times of need. work in outpatient department so it's different and less strict than inside the hospital

    Cons

The pay is crap. There are a lot of good employees in this company that don't get what their worth. The system they use is from 1983. Most hospitals are emr by now

    Advice to Management

Spend some money on the hard working employees and up to date office equipment

I have been working at Ascension Sacred Heart

    Pros

The hospital pays more than most places in the area for a similar job and they have excellent benefits. The health, dental, & vision is so cheap compared to other doctors offices I've worked for, and all benefits are available to part-time employees as well. The hospital also offers free life & disability insurance, with the option to purchase additional coverage for pennies (literally).

    Cons

I don't believe every department is the same, but the management in Patient Accounts is a joke. They don't motivate their employees, there is no clear line of authority or any idea of whom to report to for questions. They make last minute schedule decisions and offer little help in getting time off, even though they employ on-call people. There is also no real career growth ability or opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Recruit some new management for patient accounts. Get rid of the people who are set in their old ways and offer little support to employees. Also, instead of constantly trying to hire people for on-call, which doesnt work, because people leave that position, offer a few part-time positions that are floaters, so they can work in the location with the most need. There are enough sick and vacation days between the... different patient accounts locations to keep a couple of people working 20-30 hours per week.
