Disconnect between Upper Management/Administration and Clinical Staff

      Jun 28, 2021 - R N in Austin, TX

      Business Outlook

      Pros

I worked with very dedicated, caring, excellent providers and some very dedicated, talented staff. Family atmosphere, in the clinic. Benefits were good. (Although "merit" raises always seemed to occur just before there was a cost increase to Health Insurance.)

      Cons

Spent 50-60% of my time completing Insurance Prior Authorizations and Appeals, 30-40% of time completing work for other staff members/parents of patients (due to short staffing, their lack of personal responsibility for their jobs, etc.) I was only able to devote about 10-20% of my time to direct patient care. Management was unresponsive to concerns reiterated over a period of several years.
