    Pros

Challenging and competitive. Always trying to do more with less. If you work hard and innovate you will move up.

    Cons

Management turnover. You work hard and endless hours to achieve advancement opportunities then your manager or VP leaves and you have to start over with new management.

    Advice to Management

Give raises to your better employees. Even in an economic downturn it is still cheaper to pay your best employees rather then let them migrate to the competition.

Great work environment, management team and owners. Which helps in effective communicating. Goes a long way when everyone's on the same page.

    Cons

Tedious protocols unnecessary micro management which hinders work getting done in a efficient manner.

    Advice to Management

Loosen up with the micro management, allow us to get things done without the constant distractions

I worked at Ascent Media full-time

    Pros

The pros of ascent media were some of the people i got to work with and the lasting relationships i made with my team.

    Cons

The cons of ascent media were high turn over rate, long hours, long hours, long hours expected. Higher ups didn't care about lower level employees.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would to be more flexible with employees life especially when you demand such long hours.

I worked at Ascent Media full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good for software developers and employees based at the main office. If you were located there you had access to upper management and get direction.

    Cons

Political infighting among upper management far outdistanced by any innovation. This company's weak leadership seems to allow it's executives to put more energy into their personal agendas than servicing the customers.

    Advice to Management

Focus on a strategy rather than throw a bunch of ideas against the wall to see what sticks. You have to make decisions to be successful. You took on too many disconnected lines of business without an understanding of how to run them.

    Pros

It had a great culture, mostly fostered by the former CEO.

    Cons

Had an identity crisis - and was sold to several other companies...leaving the employees lost.
