I worked at Ascential full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

People - very warm and friendly. Social activities - in the past, it was a great way to connect with colleagues.

    Cons

Employee turnover is poor - many employees do not feel listened to. Sending a survey is one thing, but insight is left unactioned. Discourages a lack of enterpreneurship. Management, salaries, L&D, lack of career progression, lack of vision for new product development (management) - always launch events end up following a path of greed to customers trickles down to customer, poor sales technologies - they... need to get on the AI bandwagon to help sales people become more effective. Talent acquisition is poor - good talent but for the wrong jobs and wrong roles (largely a salary/budgetary issue).

    Advice to Management

Focusing on relationships not revenue will generate more revenue. Rethink how teams are built and use more scientific means (not MBTI, but team design assessments) that help shape the team around alignment of interests and personalities to the teams and jobs in the company. Invest in better technology. As a sales led organisation, it needs better technology to assist with developing the volume of quality... conversations, understanding the "secret sauce" to success in each event. Lots of AI solutions that are perfect for the business and would make a HUGE impact almost immediately.

  3. "A great company with a lot of perks just not great for progression"

    StarStarStarStarStar
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in London, England

I have been working at Ascential full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Lots of incentives and company perks - they hold a social every month, company breakfasts, and the annual summer and Christmas parties are always show stoppers.

    Cons

There isn't a lot of career progression - it's a great company, I think, if you are just starting out in your career but they don't really have a middle management level for people to progress into.

    Advice to Management

It would be great if there was a stronger focus on recruiting and promoting people from within the company.
