I have been working at Ashford University as a contractor

    Pros

Ashford is a great place to work online! They value all their faculty from full-time to contract instructors! Professional Development is a requirement, but there are so many options there's no reason to not do it other than just not wanting to better yourself!

    Cons

Hard to get hired. Previous examples of poor layoffs.

I have been working at Ashford University full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-This is a great place to work if you'd like to further your own education. The bachelors, masters, and even phd tuition assistance program is awesome.
-You get to help others fulfill their dream of an education.
    -This is a fast-paced, ever-changing place (i.e., you won't be bored!).
-The employees in San Diego have an on-site medical clinic. This is very handy.
-It's hard to beat the pay and benefits.
-If you're interested in starting a management career, there are plenty of opportunities to move up.

    Cons

-Can't think of any that would dissuade me from staying here.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work...

I worked at Ashford University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ashford University has great leadership and an extremely through training program. There's a high calibre of people that work there, which helps to foster the culture and fun environment. As a plus, the education benefit allows you to obtain a degree virtually free.

    Cons

There's not enough higher level positions available for the large population of advisors to work towards. The University did away with annual raises, but not annual performance evaluations. Without additional incentives, it's hard to push toward high goals month by month.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to develop more intermediary positions, and design some sort of career track for your hard working employees.
