I worked at Asian American Civic Association full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is always on time. Social office environment. Lunch hour. Co-workers are great. Location is near the T. The mission is important and helps a lot of people.

    Cons

The leadership is very out of touch with the employees. The executive director is a manipulative tyrant, and the office is very stringent. Your supervisor makes all the difference. Poor healthcare coverage. Stingy benefits unless you've worked there forever.

    Advice to Management

Hire a new executive director and re-access company policy. Treat your employees with respect.

I have been working at Asian American Civic Association full-time

    Pros

The company really lives up to their mission of promoting economic self sufficiency. The staff diversity makes for a very interesting view of how things can be done and input is always welcome. Management is in flux but the staff is more than capable so the works gets done with pride and integrity. Staff is dedicated to the agency's mission of Educate Empower and Employ!

    Cons

The organization has out grown their space so work environment is crowded and it is difficult to schedule meeting space or to have a private conversation.

    Advice to Management

Work on resolving the space issue and everything else will fall into place.
