I worked at Aspen Avionics full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

At one point, it had an amazing culture. Co workers got along really well

    Cons

Expect over time... and does not consider life outside of work. Don't expect a raise even after years of dedication.

    Advice to Management

Show some compensation for dedication and recognize it.

I worked at Aspen Avionics as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Great management. The management works with you very closely to make sure you are able to both do you work and learn.

    Cons

Some of the interns lacked basic knowledge which led to some delayed deliverables.

    Advice to Management

Make sure the interns are keeping up with work and are qualified for their position.

I worked at Aspen Avionics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Exciting, cutting edge work in general aviation avionics and s/w development

    Cons

Refuses to mature into something beyond a mere start-up.

    Advice to Management

Management seems to be detached and many times negligent regarding employees, their recognition, and opportunities for advancement. Basic leadership is not there. Frustrating place to work because of lack of communication, coordination, planning, and advancement opportunities. An inefficient place to work with long hours being the norm. Working level employees, especially the s/w engineers seem to be viewed as expendable commodities.
