I worked at Aspen Dental full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can learn a lot of different things and interacting with and meeting all the patients.

    Cons

Worried too much about metrics, no home/work balance, upper management loves to play favorites with certain employees.

    Advice to Management

Do not play favorites to certain offices and employees, worry less about metrics and more about employees home/work life, give pay raises to the great employees who deserve it.

I have been working at Aspen Dental full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast pace, decent money, does right by the patient. With the right people in place and support you can have a well running office.

    Cons

No overtime pay, sometimes things are out of your control and corporate doesn't understand that, if you don't have a well running office you miss out on a lot of pay. Very hard to take any time off.

    Advice to Management

More recognition and development is needed internally. There are a lot of politics involved in advancement within the company. Some expectations are very unrealistic.

I worked at Aspen Dental full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed the relationships of the direct office I worked in

    Cons

Upper management. They are so oblivious to the world of healthcare. Please understand I am not angry with the company as I worked there for more then 9 years and left on my own. The company was great and hnorable years ago, but now it is your typical run of the mill sweat shop bleeding there employees and taking as much money as they can from patients. I think they fail to understand that this is a healthcare system and we should never be focused on how much money we are bringing in but focused on the care of the patient

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your staff at the office. For the management that shows face at the office...STOP bullying your staff..haven't you ever heard of treating people the way you like to be treated.

I worked at Aspen Dental full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved what I did. Running the office, helping people get the care they need for 2 years. Didn't mind working a lot of hours.

    Cons

Worked 60-80 hrs each week. Had no support. HR was suppose to be supportive. They never were. Would never respond when needed. Got anew very immature director right before I left. She made working there impossible. Even though my numbers were great, nobody cares at Aspen.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees, especially dedicated employees.

I have been working at Aspen Dental full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As office manager I was in charge of hiring for my office. I had a really great staff of motivated people who truly wanted to succeed.

    Cons

The dentist was participating in illegal activity and the RM, division director and territory VP all knew it. They directed me not to say anything and begged that I didn't go to the dental board. That dentist should have been fired on the spot but then they wouldn't have a doctor and wouldn't be able to make money.

    Advice to Management

Aspen could be a good company if they would hire competent and qualified people for upper management. Not someone with no degree who was a server at a restaurant a year ago. No one, especially a doctor, is going to listen to anything an uneducated child is going to tell them.
