Reviews about "great people"
Return to all Reviews- Former Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Great group of people, young people as well as career professionals that have come back to work with a specific group.
Cons
Difficult to be promoted, and doesn't publish as much as other think tanks.
- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
The people are incredibly driven and it's a great working environment. Though, because all of the programs/departments are fairly independent, everyone's experience will be different based on the leadership and working style of his or her specific team. That said, everyone I've encountered has been fantastic and the issues we work on are so diverse and interesting. Plus the organization is in a growth phase, and things only seem to be getting better
Cons
Room for growth is probably the biggest downside. Because the organization is structured in such a way where individual programs are in silos, upward growth is really only possible within the context of a small team, meaning that there aren;t many jobs to "grow" into. Although a big reason for that is that there isn't much turnover, which is a positive thing. People tend to stick around.
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★

Cons
little room for moving up

Pros
I loved interning for the Aspen Institute. I got to work with great people and had the opportunity to attend amazing talks.
Cons
It is a small company so advancing in the company is a little more difficult. Answering phones can become somewhat tiresome after awhile.
