    Pros

    The company is constantly changing, new things happening everyday. The people I met were some of the best people I've met.

    Cons

    The line managers are not trained to handle their subordinates. Employee turnover is very high, people are hired for their expertise however, they're cut down to fit smaller roles.

    Advice to Management

    If you want highly capable teams, have the confidence to allow them to do what you hired them for. Train executives to be leaders, they are causing the high turnover.

    Great co-workers
    Always something new to work on
    they try to make a pleasant working environment

    Cons

    Remuneration, opportunity to grow - always external candidates given opportunities
    Little chance to work outside your current structure, so you will never get the right experience for promotions or transfers
    Leadership often search for scapegoats when things don't go as planned

    Advice to Management

    Remuneration and living the values would improve things
    Give internal candidates more opportunities to develop

    Just some good people you can befriend.

    Cons

    This is the worst company I'm working for and I can't wait to get out of there. Lot of unfairness. People are sacked without notice irrespective of your hierarchy and even if you contributed lots in positive ways. If you have potential to become a leader, they will sack you too as they don't want people who can think on their own. They want to be able to control weak people. Awfully long to climb the career ladder: +5yrs to reach a junior position from a junior position. Else, even ppl who have extensive managerial abilities in other multinational are taken as junior managers! In SC, you need to be in the right team else you are sack. If the manager think you are stong minded and innovation, he will sack you as he will feel treat by your abilites. Avoid any contractual employments contract. Guys, save your day and apply elsewhere. From a current Aspen Mauritius Staff. In the 5yrs I have beenworking at Aspen, I saw how things changed from worse to worst.

    Advice to Management

    Sack all your incompetent junior managers.
    They are the ones pulling the company down.

    Pros

    Flexi-hours is about the only positive.

    Cons

    There are a select few individuals running this organization, those select few are not necessarily all the right one's. Staff turn over is massive, and many of the people that are leaving are the one's this company should have kept. There is a constant executive message that their people come first, this is a total lie. Salaries are poor, remuneration at increase and bonus time there is always an excuse.

    When things go south on projects etc. then there is a massive finger pointing game from senior management, this is a given as they never want to listen to what staff have to say as they are always right.

    Advice to Management

    Look at your management team and really think twice as there are people running departments that are ducking, diving and passing the blame to individuals that do all the hard work. You have lost and are losing good people.

    A great company to work for. The IT team has an incredible team spirit.

    I was disappointed that the company become a global entity yet transfers to other countries was not encouraged.

    the general staff are good to work with

    Cons

    petty and unreasonable senior management
    HUGE staff turnover
    horrible culture
    constant undermining and blame shifting and threats
    no opportunities ..not that you would want to stay longer in the misery
    everything is a battle and a headache

    Advice to Management

    stop making pretend attempts at improving culture while continuing to treat staff badly

    Pros

    Fast growing company.

    Met a few great people giving their all.

    Cons

    Work/life balance does not exist, and salaries are below average for industry. People in middle management and below are completely overloaded and exhausted, hanging on to promises for improvement that yet has to materialise.
    Senior management make rapid decisions - seems most of the time with limited information available, which lead to a chaotic environment that employees have to figure out.

    Getting paid (Vendors, Contractors, even KOLs) proofed to be a real challenge - be prepared to wait 3months of more for your work compensation.

    If you are in pharma because you care about patients - Avoid this place! The DNA is that of a generic company that is out to make money, enriching owners while the rest hang on till they either go on stress leave or find something else.

    Advice to Management

    Slow down to speed up.
    Reconsider how you treat your people
    Values written on a website is meaningless, live what you preach, keep your word and resist making empty promises as a short term solution - its called Integrity...!
