I worked at Asphalt Green (Less than a year)

    Pros

The perks are you get to utilize the facilities and the clients of color are usually the best to work with in this environment, even though they are limited in numbers

    Cons

The staff shows little appreciation for line staff and the company is all about making money at the end of the day. The small given back they do, it's really for numbers.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the people that matter

I worked at Asphalt Green part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Great people to work with. No drama at least not in my department

    Cons

-no growth in position but in fitness department
    - aspahlt green wants to be like an equinox( yet they are a FAMILY GYM) thats why management gets so mad whenever anybody describes it that way because they know it's true. But they don't want to put in the work in trying to transition it. So in that case nothing is going to change and gym is going to empty.
-Employees don't even have a place of there own. No separate place to eat lunch, use the bathroom or put our belongings.
-Stealing is really bad here from members
-I probably never had break out of 6 months I worked here and I don't know why because no one was ever in the gym.

I worked at Asphalt Green part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay. Willing to give you hours of you were able to work. The manager in my department was helpful and willing to argue with upper management in our favor

    Cons

Working for Asphalt Green was like going back to junior high. They play favorites among the different sports. In June 2015 the company cut many sports without notice to their coaches. Many, including myself were out of a job since we're sport specific coaches. It was extremely unprofessional how they went about it. From what I heard it's what the board wanted and their minds could not be changed. However the board would walk through the facility every few months and that's it.
Even though the hourly pay was good, especially if you worked parties or conducted private lessons, they WOULD NOT consider you full time if you worked 40+ hours. The full time people were the ones on salary

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites, we aren't 13 years old. And fire Maggie Siegal, she's the downfall of the company. Actually fire most of upper management and start fresh
