I have been working at Aspire Public Schools full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Excellent Benefits
    Competitive Teacher Compensation
    Passionate staff and leadership
It is all about what is best for the students

In my time at Aspire I have seen 3 CEO's and can say the mission has not changed. Students and their success is paramount. I have been satisfied with how I have been compensated and with the decisions of the senior leadership team regarding salary even during the depths of the recession.

    Cons

Can be a difficult work environment if you are not flexible or passionate
Work/life balance can be a struggle if you don't set limits
Passion and drive can lead to conflict

Aspire has it's faults, that is undeniable. The organization is often too quick to change methods and at times I have gotten whiplash because shifts in focus are so quick from year to year.

    Advice to Management

Refinement is usually better than innovation.

I have been working at Aspire Public Schools (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I like the freedom of being able to develop my own curriculum and working with a diverse student population.

    Cons

I would like a teacher's union and a more diverse teacher demographic.

    Advice to Management

It would be beneficial to have a more representative student population of the surrounding community.

I have been working at Aspire Public Schools full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fantastic teammates, fairly agile approach to making changes for such a large nonprofit, very dedicated teams. Truly visionary and exceptional leadership team.

    Cons

Working on equity (still have a long way to go, but it is gaining greater priority). Workload sustainability is also becoming a priority, as is greater investment in human capital.
