I worked at Asplundh full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

Very physical feel-good job. Rapid for advancement for skilled workers and hard chargers. Steady work. Worked with some great guys, huge industry with enormous potential for networking. Decent pay with good benefits.

        Cons

Needs a better training plan more focused on the development of the individual potential of each worker. Alternate points of contact for employee issues. Some GF's are too overwhelmed to affect a timely solution to an employees problem..

        Advice to Management

Nurture an employees potential and allow that employee to advance when they have reached the level of proficiency and confidence needed to be successful.

I have been working at Asplundh full-time for more than 6 years

        Pros

Good benefits, Compensation is comparably high to other contract planning groups. Management expects their employees to be self motivated and supplement there training with independent learning. This fosters continual dialogue between peers and leads. Family atmosphere, allow for flexible schedule and ability to 'make up time' if emergencies occur. Try to provide fun activities to build team spirit - in n' out...

        Cons

Those who are hesitant to ask questions or communicate their inefficiencies find themselves struggling to keep up with the fast paced environment. expected to keep a good attitude, and those that don't are generally asked to leave. Utility dictates amount of OT, so feast or famine in that respect management is talked about as being 'clicky' and hard to break into.
