I have been working at Asset Campus Housing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is basically always the possibility of moving up or transferring to a different Asset managed property as long as you have been with the company for some time and are qualified to transfer. There are tons of opportunity for training on many different aspects throughout the company and also opportunity for personal growth. Decent benefits offered like health care plans and paid time off.

    Cons

This is the type of job that pays decent for those that don't have a bachelor's degree but for those that do, the level of pay is much lower than expected in most cases. Management above the Leasing and General Management on each property themselves always seem a little unorganized. Hard to keep a good staff on property because they pay that is budgeted for the leasing staff is pretty low and only part time. In all reality, the overall budget for a lot of properties are pretty low which makes things like marketing and property upkeep hard. The Leasing and Marketing Manager position is also an extremely under paid position for the amount of work that is expected.

    Pros

ACH mainly operates student-living properties, so young/vibrant/fresh are some good ways to define the environment you work in.

    Cons

The unpredictability of leasing each year causes pressure and stress from supervisors.

Day-to-day communication with supervisors is virtually non-existent because of their constant travel schedule.

When supervisors do visit your property, they typically spend 95% of the time working with other properties and as they leave give little advice on how to help.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees the first time! They are your eyes and ears on the ground and typically have a good idea of the market they are in.
