I have been working at Associated Banc-Corp for more than 8 years

    Pros

Associated offers both a 401k and a Pensions for a combined potential 8% annual contribution from the company. Almost no one offers a penson anymore. They will match your 401k contribution up to 5% and your receive a 3% pension contribution annually. The CEO cares and discusses the importance of retirement planning on his town hall meetings

    Cons

You have to wait 3 years for the pension to vest.

I have been working at Associated Banc-Corp full-time

    Pros

Benefits are ok, 4.5% match and pension.

    Cons

Insurance plans are expensive, lots of turnover, a lack of care for customers has become the norm. Account requirement changes have soured a lot of long-standing relationships with good people that will now be charged for their accounts. Severe lack of sufficient communication from hiring teams to internal candidates.

    Advice to Management

Do whatever it takes to retain competent talent, especially in the retail management structure. Get rid of people that aren't respected, listen to your people.

I have been working at Associated Banc-Corp full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Associated Bank seems to promote from within quite frequently. They have good benefits such as a 410k match (~4.5%) as well as a pension. In-store bankers (grocery store locations) have a quicker opportunity to advancement as they can move up to be Assistant Managers, which the stand alone locations don't offer.

    Cons

In-store relationship bankers get shafted until they are promoted. The hours working in the grocery store location is hardly ideal (Holidays, Sundays, and open till 7pm during the week). Expect to earn less money than the bankers at the traditional branches too. It is next to impossible for the grocery store bankers to reach goals and thus earn any commission (Currently there are only ~2 in-store bankers in the entire...

    Advice to Management

Compensate in-store bankers for the bad hours they have to work, that would help stem the high turnover. Also fix the relationship banker incentive point system so they same percentage of in-store bankers hit their monthly points as traditional bankers.
