I worked at Associated Community Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The owners had tremendous character and great guys to work for. Plus it was a lot of fun!

    Cons

They underwent restructuring, which meant a lot of changes.

I worked at Associated Community Services (Less than a year)

    Pros

The one thing I liked was my co workers. Some of them made work fun.

    Cons

The bad thing about working there was hours some days we got off at midnight. People don't like being called late at night.

  3. "Unimportant Employee"

    Pros

    1.Pay was decent
2.Most of the other "unimportant"-employees are great to work with 3.Employees that are NOT management are the ones who care/cared about the company and would work hard for the company's success

    Cons

    1. Management is ridiculously paid- un-Godly amounts of money -while the employees that actually do the work are not paid in proportion at all
    2. Management did NOT care at all about: A.Employees B. The Company as a whole or the success of the company, only themselves.
    3. Management only wanted more padding in their pockets, so would do whatever it took to make themselves appear: smarter, brighter, better . Even at the expense of others-
    4. Management WILL throw the " unimportant" employees under bus to make themselves look good or take your ideas and present them as their own
    5. If Management did not agree with your Idea/opinion/views you were blacklisted
    6. HR department was less desirable
    7. Benefits are horrible
    8. No perks whatsoever, not even coffee-cups, plastic ware, Etc.
    9. Extremely high turnover
    10. Very vague handbook-Management can do as they please- the "Rules" do not pertain to them, while the "UnImportant" employees were to follow ALL rules , which MOST were made up as you progressed, so you were not informed if you were "breaking" rules until after the fact
    11. Management is Very "clicky".TRUST NO ONE
    12. People/Management will speak poorly of other manangement - very unprofessional

    Advice to Management

If you would like to retain employees, I would suggest having better benefits, a faculty that actually cares for their employees & company
Having management not speak poorly of others at the company
Revised handbook that is less vague and is "black & white" -so no employee is reprimanded (if their immediate boss is in a bad mood that day) and allow another employee to do the exact same and nothing happen
A better management team that cares
Not "team up" on a employee , solely because a member of management does not like someone personally- IF the employees work is exceptional
Take more advise from employees and not allow "blacklisting" for employees to share ideas and opinions.

I worked at Associated Community Services full-time

    Pros

Overtime not mandatory but available. Experience using computers and office work.

    Cons

The managers do whatever they want. They don't have to abide by the rules we had to follow. The pause time is ridiculous! If you have to use the bathroom but you don't have enough minutes you will be in trouble and you are expected to just hold it till you have more time or are off work. You don't get any break time untill you've worked two hours and even then it's hardly enough time to use the bathroom or heat up and eat some food. They are taking money from poor old people. Even if they are in assisted living you are expected to keep making them feel bad untill they give in. They represent the worst rated charities; just google some of them, like the Foundation of American Veterans. They have been in trouble with the law and still act like they are the best company in the world. They dock your pay if you miss one day. I have never heard of that before in my life. Doesn't matter the reason or if you have a doctors note. Doesn't matter if you were in a car accident or had a medical emergency. Your pay will be docked. They make you feel bad if you don't work any overtime. It's not mandatory but if you don't they make you feel stupid. I have college but to them that doesn't matter. They charge you for the headsets they are making you use. They hire just about anyone. Most are criminals or druggies. They let certain people get away with the most inappropriate outfits but others will get in trouble. They call people in the middle of the night expecting them to give them money. They charge you to dress down on fridays and other days. It's bull crap. Most people are rude and say and do whatever they want. Worst place I have ever worked. It takes forever to move up in the company; heard that from several people. If someone doesn't like you, you won't be promoted; whether they are in charge of promoting people or not, just as long as they are in management.

    Advice to Management

Follow the rules you make your employees follow. Stop charging people pause time to use the bathroom.

    Pros

This is by far the worst employer I've ever worked for. This company violates human rights and employee rights but no one complains about it.

    Cons

    this is the worst company

    Advice to Management

get professional and stop being about the money, treat people as you would want to be treated on a job.

    Pros

The company offers entry level opportunity to those with reasonably good work ethic and ambition.

    Cons

The hours are challenging and the work is monotonous. The company may be having financial issues because paychecks didn't clear on a recent payday.

    Advice to Management

    Be honest with your employees.

    Pros

Weekly pay, set schedule, unlimited overtime.

    Cons

Weekly pay but if you miss a day your pay goes down unless u make it up by coming in early one day, they start you off on midnights 4pm-12 smh and pause time has to be under 15% everyday

    Advice to Management

    Be more professional

I worked at Associated Community Services part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Phone and sales experience easily translate into other fields.

    Cons

Extreme nepotism. No possibility of any real advancement unless you know someone. The "promotions" they offered were designed to make you make way harder for the same money or slightly more. Negative environment, angry hostile interactions with people.

    Advice to Management

Find another line of work, leave fundraising to actual charities. Keeping 80% of someone's donation because it's technically legal is a pretty lame existence.
