I have been working at Assurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Assurance has by far been the best place I have worked. They truly represent how companies should treat their employees. From great benefits, perks, wellness programs and incentives to hiring equally great people to work with. The culture is second to none and the hiring process ensures those great people continue to receive positions here. It is a work hard play hard environment, but also does an excellent job not losing sight of work life balance.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be innovative in your approach to the company culture, it is a major component of what makes Assurance such an awesome place to work.

I worked at Assurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent culture for early level employees and veterans alike. Solid, consistent leadership over sales and service. Growth within the organization and best-in-industry training/development.

    Cons

Fairly flat organization with little variety in opportunities. Must love working in insurance. Not the best place if you want to immediately jump into sales, there will be a number of years of technical learning and administrative responsibilities before working with clients or sales. Although that may be a con for some, it also helps build a more successful career overall. Salaries can be lower than the market but benefits and perks help offset.

    Advice to Management

I would say that leadership has done a lot to make employees feel appreciated and have the ship going in the right direction, I would add not to forget the operational folks that aren't in a sales and service role. they may not work with clients, but they are vital to the success of the organization.

I worked at Assurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Only positive about this company is the introduction of Smart Casual.

    Cons

Pay is below market for all brokerage firms but they try to offset with $5 gift cards to Starbucks and numerous company events. Management likes to track your time by watching you on instant messenger to see when you log in and log off. Quick to say the company is performing amazing yet poor raises and bonuses. Leads you to believe that only upper management is being rewarded.

I have been working at Assurance full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

-The culture - there is a lot of positive energy in our office...especially considering this is Insurance
-The people - are Great! From Admin to the CEO. We all work hard because we enjoy what we are doing and want to continue to be successful as individuals, teams and as a company
    -Flexibility of Schedule
-Education - The opportunities to learn, advance and become an expert in our industry are abundant
-Annual Employee Appreciation Day - an annual celebration of the employees

    Cons

I've been here almost 15 years and am unable to come up with a single con

    Advice to Management

Keep making this a great place to come into every day

I have been working at Assurance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not only do you feel inspired in your own role, but the company has a way of getting you excited about everything. It is great working with like minded individuals who have a common goal of being awesome and excelling in everything we do. Great work/life balance and even better executive team.

    Cons

The interview process can be long with gaps in between, but it is worth it in the end and you end up on the right team.

    Advice to Management

Keep going in the direction you are and your people will stay. The verticals and team set up are what sets us apart from other brokerages.

I have been working at Assurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's challenging work, exciting, and unique. Assurance isn't your typical insurance brokerage company, the culture is great, the opportunities endless, and the growth and strength of the company is outstanding.

    Cons

Work-life balance can be an issue at times since we are a client service company but the flexible work hours and vacation benefits really keeps it in check.

    Advice to Management

Remain approachable and fun, I think that's really what makes our culture unique. Also making sure that everyone's ideas and input count.

I have been working at Assurance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    -Employee-centric recognition
    -Work hard, play hard atmosphere
-Hard work = career advancement opportunities
    -Supportive, friendly employees
-Ambitious, innovative, and influential executive leaders
    -Employee voice is heard

    Cons

You need to be ready to work hard to keep up with the company's growth, which sometimes means longer hours than 8-5. If you're a clock-watcher and enjoy a slow-paced environment, this isn't the place for you. If you're ambitious, career-driven, and always seeking a challenge, you will fit in well.

    Advice to Management

Continue the transparency with communications and continue listening to the employee. You've done this well.
