I have been working at Assurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Moved to Assurance in 2015 and never looked back. Love the culture here and their dedication to wellness. They have delivered on every promise that was made to me when I was hired. Also, love that I can work from home 1-2 days per week.

    Cons

Frankly, I can't think of any. I work in the Chicago office and I am required to travel to Schaumburg office every couple of weeks. I live in the city and dislike the commute but that's the only negative thing I can say!

The company really treats their employees well. It has a great wellness program as well. Most importantly, I work with a wonderful group of people!

    Cons

    Pros

Starter job with diverse business class exposure. Means to gan a Property Casualty Producer license.

    Cons

High turnover in services area. Poor career pathing unless you want to be a producer.

    Advice to Management

High Turnover will never lead to 'national broker status'

I have been working at Assurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Assurance has by far been the best place I have worked. They truly represent how companies should treat their employees. From great benefits, perks, wellness programs and incentives to hiring equally great people to work with. The culture is second to none and the hiring process ensures those great people continue to receive positions here. It is a work hard play hard environment, but also does an excellent job not losing sight of work life balance.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be innovative in your approach to the company culture, it is a major component of what makes Assurance such an awesome place to work.

I have been working at Assurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and 401K, tons of learning opportunities and good solid training, which can help you build a foundation in the insurance industry to take elsewhere if you decide not to stay there.

    Cons

Senior management can do no wrong. No matter how many employees they push out of the company, they will always get their way. Expect to be talked down to regularly, and feel your morale slowly seep out with each passing day.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the little guy.

I worked at Assurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent culture for early level employees and veterans alike. Solid, consistent leadership over sales and service. Growth within the organization and best-in-industry training/development.

    Cons

Fairly flat organization with little variety in opportunities. Must love working in insurance. Not the best place if you want to immediately jump into sales, there will be a number of years of technical learning and administrative responsibilities before working with clients or sales. Although that may be a con for some, it also helps build a more successful career overall. Salaries can be lower than the market but benefits and perks help offset.

    Advice to Management

I would say that leadership has done a lot to make employees feel appreciated and have the ship going in the right direction, I would add not to forget the operational folks that aren't in a sales and service role. they may not work with clients, but they are vital to the success of the organization.

I have been working at Assurance full-time

    Pros

There is a camaraderie and a level of care that is real - both at the individual level with the people I work with and the company level. I believe the company as a whole has a heart. The work we do is important and how we do it is with a sense of ownership and pride.

    Cons

Well, it is work, so there are some things that are hard. Our clients have high expectations and need our help solving tricky problems that don't always have easy answers. But it is very rewarding.

    Advice to Management

Keep the special touches - even as we've grown we've been able to do that.
