I worked at Assurant full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Assurant has a handful of nice co-workers. It used to be a very good place to work for. However it changed significantly when the higher up managements change the culture and now becoming like a sweat shop company.

    Cons

Getting very cheap with benefits and raise. More works with all the acquisitions without compensations. Demanding more and more but did not want to give any compensations for the extra workloads.

    Advice to Management

Do not be so stingy to the employees. The Company's reputation is also important for the Shareholders.

I worked at Assurant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Pay was decent
Benefits were okay but I did not like that vision care was a discount and not actual insurance
Working from home was an adjustment but it helped that you did not have to see the managers everyday.

    Cons

Poor communication from management to staff when working on new projects
Reviews/audits of other departments would be incomplete because the compliance team did not know actual business procedure/policy until after the review was either completed or underway.
If they like you they pile on so much work you will be overwhelmed. If they don't like you then be prepared to have ongoing three way convos with management and HR on what YOU are doing wrong.
    Access to 1 research resource
Do not challenge any of management's approach even if it does not make sense, just go along with it or feel the wrath. Here a quiet mouth is a paid mouth.

    Advice to Management

Senior management needs investigate what the directors, and managers are doing why there is such high turn over in the compliance department.
