I have been working at Assurant full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I've been at the company for over 3 years, most employees have long tenures 10-40 years. The company culture is so much like a family. Everyone I have met or interacted with is always eager to help and contribute. I'm very fortunate to have had the bosses that I've had, great professionals and maybe even friends. As we go through our integration with Legacy TWG employees, I feel more and more happy to a part of this organization. Our new family members are also awesome people to work with, great professionals, extensive talent, kind human beings.

    Cons

A minor downside might be that things are a bit slow to make happen. Our processes from hiring to product launch are sometimes tedious and long, but that's only because we're rigorous in researching and meticulous in deciding a strategy.

    Advice to Management

We need more team meetings where we can interact face to face with the people we work with everyday.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company to get foot in the door of the corporate world. Large company with office buildings all over the world.

    Cons

Very hard to move up the later with work and experience only. Pay is lower than market rate in some positions.

    Advice to Management

They are hands on geared to make the work environment employee friendly the best way they can. Wellingness to over see the quality of work matches the quantity.

I worked at Assurant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Great benefits
    - Great Amenities
    - Ability to work from home after probationary period

    Cons

    - too much mandatory overtime
    - unrealistic expectations
    - no upper management support

    Advice to Management

Don't forget what it was like to be one of us. It's unrealistic to think someone can work a 40 hour work week in addition to a minimum of 20 hours of overtime and still be productive and perform at 100%. Invest in more employees so you don't loose great talent.

I worked at Assurant full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and pay. A big corporation that lets its divisions operate autonomously yet provides strong corporate governance.

    Cons

Sometimes rapid growth can cause a few things to step through the cracks.

    Advice to Management

Try to project how changes will impact the business rather than making changes and fixing them on the backend.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Use of technology, on-site cafeteria is good. Time off is reasonable

    Cons

No on site gym or partnership with local gyms, not a good new hire on boarding process, you have to figure out things on your own. No paternity leave. Internal communication is lacking

    Advice to Management

Find ways to further employee engagement. More community events. Employee mentorship and hands on learning opportunities. Establish a sense of camadrie on site
