I worked at Assurant full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and vacation. Heath insurance starts your first day.

    Cons

Frequency of schedule changes. Being forced to accept shifts that are outside of your availability or resignation. Favoritism, lack of professionalism, and no room for growth. Unprofessional and uneducated management team. Downsizing with notice after the fact. Little monetary recognition for exceeding standard. Clients control business and company expects associates to jump through hoops constantly to accommodate.

    Advice to Management

I've expressed my thoughts to management as well as hr.

    Pros

    Work life balance
    Vacation time
    Pretty cool team leads

    Cons

No raises - no room for growth--they are making changes and will probably have more lay offs soon --- NO TRAINING -- but they expect you to reach goals that are impossible to reach -- people are in cliques-- not enough teamwork --

    Advice to Management

Quit setting goals that are not realistic!! Train new hires!!!!!!!!

I have been working at Assurant full-time

    Pros

It's a Monday thru Friday job in most areas. Most of the employees are a pleasure to work with. It has great amenities for its employees.

    Cons

There is no professionalism. It's a toxic environment. There is no room for growth. There are individuals in management not qualified for the position they have. Cutler bay Assurant is "GHETTO." From the higher ups to the reps.

    Advice to Management

    Aquire people skills.

I worked at Assurant full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Proximity is close to home. No major highways to get to work.

    Cons

Lack of professionalism, lack of educated managers and team leads, too many changes, no time to let a process work after changes before changing again, no room for growth, the company does not access employees knowledge to see where they best fit, prevent employees from growing by not allowing an employee to learn new things, managers change every few months. No set guidelines. Everything is always based on the manager's discretion.

    Advice to Management

Continue to learn, never stop learning, get your degree in something. You cannot manage people effectively if you only have a high school diploma and your employees have bachelor's and master's degrees.
