I have been working at Assurant full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work from home option, coworkers are great.

    Cons

Upper management is constantly trying to find away to get you in trouble, by threatening to take away your work from home option. They want you to make 100% accuracy with primitive computers and software that are constantly having issues. With low pay, unless your manager likes you, and if they dont, you will always get the lowest raise possible even though you're a good worker.

I worked at Assurant full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Large company, with multiple locations and work from home opportunities. Options to move into different areas of organization. They are great about charity giving, having matches set for United Way, plus they match up to $1000 every year of each employee’s individual giving to charities of their choice.

    Cons

Large workload, many departments it is all about meeting your numbers. Frequent company acquisitions increase demands and cause resulting reorganization and culture changes. I would still be working there were it not for a IT reorganization, which seems to happen every 3-5 years. Once you get to certain level, hard to progress beyond that layer.

I have been working at Assurant full-time

    Pros

Work at home Opportunities and Yearly Bonus

    Cons

They do not care about hiring from within. Lots of departments were closed. Not enough minority male promotions they just hired a bunch of white woman execs to fill in minority gap. Very boring office atmosphere almost funeral-like

    Advice to Management

None this is exactly how they want it all IT will be outsourced soon from server group to project managing and this is from an inside source

    I worked at Assurant full-time

    Pros

Company has embraced work from home and remote work.

    Cons

Company likes to have waves of layoffs throughout the year , filling the gaps with contract work or just passing responsibility to those who survive the purge.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Get to work from home

    Cons

This company has no business hiring remote employees in another state. The materials covered in the 1 month training do not even begin to prepare you, not to mention there are always issues with the equipment and the IT dept is not very helpful in those times. It is difficult to get answers to general employment questions and when you need support for an escalated caller, well you can forget that. You are basically left to fend for yourself. The in office employees are offered alot more incentive than those who work at home. Overall the company doesn't seem to care about its employees and their well being. The HR dept is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Hire management from within instead of bringing someone in off the street who has never been in the position they are managing, someone who knows more about the company than the new employee they are attempting to manage.
