I have been working at Assurant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits; decent pay; work/life balance - enjoy working with my team and direct managers.

    Cons

More work from home opportunities should be explored with the ever growing traffic issues in Atlanta. No real maternity/paternity policy in place. System issues are continuous.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with current benefits trends to help better retain and attract employees. Implementing progressive changes will help the perception of Assurant as a place potential employees will want to work at.

I worked at Assurant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits. Work from home days (depend on the department) are nice. Cool office in Midtown. They try to create a work/life balance. Some managers are more flexible than others, but people commuting from far suburbs should have more flexibility, especially when being in the office is not a requirement to create good work

    Cons

Boys club. Moving the cool office in midtown to the other, more corporate office in Windy Hill. Senior management is out of touch. No holiday bonuses. Not much upward mobility. Lots of outsourcing to contractors in India. Seemingly high turnover of talent. The way they laid off some team members was devoid of compassion

    Advice to Management

Talent is quick to leave because they can find a company with competitive pay and a much better work environment. The move to get rid of the Midtown office was an incredibly stupid one. Not only is Windy Hill a boring, and congested area which will get worse with Braves traffic, but the Midtown office kept the company competitive in attracting creatives from different areas of Atlanta. The walkability of the Midtown office was a huge plus and this is an example of how the senior management is out of touch with what the employees want. Since the announcement of the office change, there has been a mass exodus of talented, creative people. Assurant stifles creativity.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very close to my home, dress code business causal, love my coworkers, benefits, pto options, decent cafeteria a lil slow, decent break room.

    Cons

Management management management! Super strict adherence, training, pay, no parking, job security. No schedule changes even though they promote work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Stop the favoritism. You often hear management huddling and gossiping. I'm having family issues in which I'm requesting an earlier shift and I'm jumping through hoops for no response. Not consistent on adherence guidelines. One manager tells a team something but your manager tells you different. The training you get doesn't prepare you for on the floor & the homeowners talk to you crazy 85% of the time. The parking is terrible takes an extra 3-4 mins just to find a spot. Constantly firing ppl with no warning. With Georgia being a right to work state you can literally come in one day and your desk be cleared. Ppl are quitting left and right cause of all of the above which then makes it harder on everyone else. Pay us more and we might be able to overlook all the chaos.

    Pros

    Benefits - 401K was great
    Work/Life balance
Location is close to nice restaurants and living, close to new stadium
Pay is mediocre could definitely be higher

    Cons

    Ops and unit managers
Benefits - insurance covers little to nothing on our costs and the prescription plan sucks! Prescription plan in specific does not cover much or provide any breaks or discounts on medicines.

    Advice to Management

Hold ops and unit managers accountable for actions even when tenured

I have been working at Assurant as a contractor

    Pros

Flexibility is great, they really understand work-life balance. The pay is pretty good too.

    Cons

Lack of team engagement activities and not much time is spent in training programs that incentives employees to keep up to date.

    Advice to Management

Company could use more team engagement activities as well as incentive training programs every year for each of their employees, contractors, ect. It's important for everyone to stay updated
