I worked at Astellas Europe full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent colleagues, many sharing their frustration with lack of coherent leadership and career advancement
Often things get done (well) thanks the comradeship still remaining in the company !

    Cons

For the last 2 years company direction is confusing and now even more with brexit. The excellent help network is disappearing fast as many new recruits don't share same values.

    Advice to Management

Think that hardworking staff deserves recognition and praise a bit more often than the town halls

    Pros

    lovely offices, hard working people

I have been working at Astellas Europe full-time

    Pros

People, not a big pharma so you can do many things, Senior Management easy to approach, friendly environment.

    Cons

Change management is really difficult, not easy to find people you can hold to account, many different meetings to discuss the same thing.

    Advice to Management

Great place to work but need to apply some changes. Be brave with those changes otherwise people will stick with old behaviours

I worked at Astellas Europe full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Stunning office and good working environment
    Competitive salary and good benefits
Pleasant working environment and helpful team members
On site restaurant and cafe with cheap prices
Plenty of free and secure parking
    Close to M25
    Great company culture
Good work/life balance including can finish early Fridays.

    Cons

Some deadwood who will stay until retirement
    Company is slow to change
Lack of career development in some roles, leads to high turnover in some roles.
Suburban location: poor access by public transport to London as no shuttle to train station (unlike samsung next door!), limits talent pool willing to work here and diversity of work force. To attract the best talent from the largest city in Europe, you need to make it easier to get to!

    Advice to Management

Despite the recent ABPI saga, the company has good people and a good culture and reputation in the industry and among patients.
Provide better structured career development opportunities to retain people in the long term.

    Friendly colleagues and office culture.
Good products that have strong market share and support.

    Cons

No many, I enjoyed working at Astellas, left for a position with more responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Astellas Europe full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company is growing so money is available. Great building, pay in IT is competitive. Some good people in IT and elsewhere

    Cons

Outsource partners (especially IBM) poor. IT management a bit top heavy with too many people trying to define strategy - having Business Information Managers is a very outdated model and in conflict with the modern Enterprise Architecture Approach. Affiliates across Europe are quite ill disciplined and allow to do what they want. Compliance is old fashioned requiring wet signatures on all IT project documentation. Business expectations not managed well - business tends to get what it wants, especially if influenced by crony specialist suppliers or digital agencies selling snake oil.

    Advice to Management

Company management should give IT more clout and should globalise faster. Compliance needs to be rationalised.
