I worked at Astoria Bank for more than a year

    Pros

hours are great, health benefits are fantastic, great cowokers

    Cons

management is horrible, broken promises, they are picky when they look to promote others. someone with a high school diploma can get promoted against someone with a 4 year degree...

    Advice to Management

give all a chance to get promoted from bank telling with a 4 year degrees instead of others who only have high school diplomas.

I worked at Astoria Bank full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Management was very official and kind. You learn a lot about banking through working here and everyone is out to help everyone.

      Cons

Training could be a little more thorough. The referral system that they hold you too is almost always impossible to complete fully. High stress environment for a very low pay.

      Advice to Management

Be more lenient on the tellers for their referrals and the financial consultant referrals. More training for all positions and make sure you hire good managers.
