"Not a company that cares about its employees"

      Current Employee - Management

I have been working at Astoria Bank full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

Started off as a great company years ago, but it has become difficult to adhere to new changes. Long hours, cut throat sales culture, same pay.

      Cons

Long hours, low wages, high, unrealistic expectations.

      Advice to Management

Try to walk a day in our shoes in retail branches!

      I worked at Astoria Bank

      Pros

No Sunday hours. You do get two weeks paid vacation after one year of service. Holidays are paid to fulltime employees.

      Cons

Payscale is low. Focus is on investment sales and not the needs of customers. Tellers are very underpaid and should not be selling products to customers.

      Advice to Management

Your personal bankers are not properly trained to be Financial Advisors and should not be selling annuity investments to customers. The company motto of "Putting People First" should apply to employees as well.
