I have been working at Astoria Bank

    Pros

The salary is decent and the 401k company match is 6%. Employees also have perks of a free checking account.

    Cons

No work/life balance Constantly under pressure and stress to meet sales goals. Constantly changing sales approach Not enough training for new systems Products are not competitive and complex No career growth opportunities

    Advice to Management

Give more training to help the people interacting with the customers. The training world is not what actually happens at the branch level.

    I worked at Astoria Bank

    Pros

PEAK Sales and service training is the best in banking. Many peer managers very supportive, helping each other when needed. Enjoyed working with the people, who will be missed.

    Cons

Need to streamline some of the branch operations to free up frontline staff for service and sales activities/coaching. Incorporate branch floaters to help with staffing issues, maintain quality service and sales.

    Advice to Management

"Putting People First" is truly the key to our success!
