I worked at Astorino full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

This is a people oriented firm that really cares about its employees. The studio leaders are very approachable. They tend to get very interesting projects, especially related to healthcare and sports. I very much miss working at this firm.

    Cons

It can be difficult when things get slow and you are waiting for a new job to start. Sometimes the economy dictates these slowdowns.

    Advice to Management

Try to even out the workload more. The benefits could be better, however they are competitive with other design firms.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Astorino full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Architects and Engineering in one company
Downtown location is convenient with lots of options for lunch
    Variety of projects
Fairly up to date on technology

    Cons

Very top heavy with tons of upper management forces them to lay off large groups of lower workers often.
    Very high turn over.
    Not very good benefits
    NO 401k contribution
    Lots of C.Y.A. for employees
Seniority has last say even when they are in the wrong
A lot of inner office politics

    Advice to Management

Be willing to look at your selves when evaluating the failures of the company, not just the low workers.
