    Pros

The pay and benefits are okay. I really like most of thier managers.

    Cons

They have third party vendors handling Human Resources

    Advice to Management

Don't let outside companies handle your Human Resources. It make it hard to find answer on company benefits and possible problems you are facing in the field.

I worked at AstraZeneca full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you have a good manager life can be good at AZ. In 13+ years I had 7 managers. I was lucky that most "got it". Good 401K, full match up to 6%, recently gave all employees the last week of the year off.

    Cons

A few years ago the Brits were in charge of leadership. I refer to my time then as the Renaissance Period of AstraZeneca. Sadly, after they left things rapidly went down hill. Leadership blames it on LOE of a few products but I believe it boils down to mismanagement of money and corporate greed. The latest layoff included 700 employees one week before Christmas with zero notice. I was about to walk out the door for work when I saw a text from my manager telling his team not to go in the field until he called us all to let us know if we were employed or not. What a way to thank your people. Thanks Rudd! I was offered a job in 5 various cities in the US but was required to make a decision within 5 days. Um...thanks but no thanks I'll just take the package and work for someone else. The company retains under-performers. The recent realignment in CV TA made little sense to managers and reps. As a result, a lot of good people left the company. Too many me-too drugs. Incentive packages change frequently.

    Advice to Management

I realize we are all just a number when working for Corporate America but wow. When you don't take care of your people they are not going to take care of you. When you ask the field for cost-cutting measures and they offer advice, don't reward them with last minute lay offs.

I worked at AstraZeneca full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great salary, awesome benefits, flexible working arrangements, vacation, 401k match at six percent, generous bonus and stock options for certain level employees, great work/life balance most of the time.

    Cons

Constantly changing, and not in a good way. Never knew where you stood or when your run was over... sadly keeping under performers employed and not promoting talent. Total lack of clear leadership.

    Advice to Management

Support those who support you, don't run them down and be sneaky. Hold those to task that don't perform, and think about using the tools you put in place to actually "reward" high-performance. And seriously, quit lying about your layoff numbers in Delaware... they're actually higher than what your reporting :/
