    Pros

Purchasing and planning group is easy to work with and available to help. You have the freedom to take ownership of your job duties. Office atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Client dinners are a plus.

    Cons

Little exposure to what is really going on in the company. Your isolated from the operations side of business and your job directly impacts this side. Little influence to change the way things are done. Their are layers above you that control changes and make decisions, sometimes without your input. Suppliers are generally awful, majority of your job is to hound them to get them to deliver on time. Majority of the role is putting out fires with late PO's. Other departments that work with the planing team are un-organized,

    Advice to Management

Foster employee engagement with the bigger picture. Dont leave employee's just with the day to day.

I worked at Astral Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Industry experience, pays decent, independence

    Cons

stressful work environment, extremely high turnover, diva attitudes, understaffed, overworked, unpleasant atmosphere

    Advice to Management

Just because someone has been there for a long time does not give them the right to treat people with disrespect and attitude. Working with certain people was like walking on egg shells every day. Bring in some younger people to give a fresh outlook and relevancy. Spend money on more staff so everyone isn't stressed out all of the time.

    Pros

Free and discounted product, nice corporate office

    Cons

Emotionally unstable and volatile working environment, company dishonest about salary/bonus and benefits, lack of training, high turnover and people constantly being "let go", upper management lacks basic business acumen skills, very little opportunity for career progression on the operations side, lack of top notch talent in company, operational systems and processes outdated and not suited for what company does

    Advice to Management

Be honest with employees about salary, benefits, and opportunities. Appreciate the operational employees who are trying to help the company run smoothly and keep it in good financial health. Start coaching and training employees rather than contstantly churning and burning.

    Pros

Good people, nice office, friendly atmosphere, free perks, cosmetics, skincare.
     Not too large, company trips.

    Cons

Poorly managed financial for paychecks. Non-creative atmosphere for designers(typical corporate). Very structured, quiet, and individualized.
Outdated graphics styles among some of the management.

    Advice to Management

Well, for interns, a more mentorship approach, hands-on learning, work with other designers. For the environment, more creative brainstorming, a more creative atmosphere or meeting space dedicated to the marketing dept. More hands-on, physical roles.
