    Pros

Glassdoor should have zero star rating

    Cons

Layoff after project As an engineer your job stability depends on the project. During each project you have to think about your next project. You should network inside the company to make sure your name is on the list for the next project. As a technical engineer you are just a number cruncher. I worked at Atkins full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you are in the right office and sector, it can be a good time to be at Atkins. If you aren't, you will stay on a downward slide. There have been lots of defections from the PBS&J days, and they haven't been replaced.

    Cons

Many technical people have to find work for themselves because the "business unit" people either don't do it or only do it for the discipline they are part of. The business model restricts technical people from doing business development. It doesn't work. Atkins keeps adding business unit mouths to feed and isn't addressing the technical deficiencies or providing the support they need. They have little/no interest in supporting career or professional development.
