I worked at Atkins full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Senior Management was very informative and Middle Management was very hands-off in their management style. I was given a job and supplied to tools to be successful.

    Cons

There are no negatives about this company.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

Very well run company, with great people and great opportunities.

    Cons

Well, it's a large-ish firm, with the bureaucratic trappings that entails.

    Advice to Management

Maintain Atkins identity after the Lavalin buyout.

I worked at Atkins full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great office and people! Very helpful and decent ambiance. Can really learn a lot about how a large company works.

    Cons

Hard to get a raise once hired. Don’t really invest in helping employees grow with the company. Some growing pains and operational issues due to recent company acquisition

    Advice to Management

Help employees (especially support staff) grow and increase worth within company.

I worked at Atkins (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Some of the best people in the industry work at Atkins.

    Cons

In Florida, middle management is dropping the ball on talent. Destroying value by not retaining talent. Good people are leaving the company in bulks.

    Advice to Management

    Top management should step in!!!

    Pros

Atkins feels like a family; global network. in house on-line training, great pay, benefits.

    Cons

Laid off after passing my review and told I'm one of our best employees. I had no safety violations nor disciplinary actions.

    Advice to Management

You don't lay off your "best employees" and when a program terminates your position, Atkins should have other work options available for employees rather than dismiss them like commodities.
Culture and values is false with my experience.
